SOUTH SUBURBAN, IL.
On Monday, October 19th, Thornton Township will host a medical event to administer flu shots at the Thornton Township Senior Center located at 1420 Huntington Drive in Calumet City, IL from 9 am until 1 pm. This is one of three events that will be held to provide residents with vaccinations and help protect against the soon-to-come flu season which is expected to be much worse than last year's. Medical practitioners are strongly recommending flu shots and Thornton Towhship Supervisor, Frank M. Zuccarelli is also encouraging residents, particularly seniors to receive a flu shot. Because flu emidemics claim lives, two other local sites in Thrnton Township will also provide a place for vaccinations including the Riverdale Senior Youth $ Family Center from 11 am to 1 pm on Thursday, October 28th at 14323 Halsted Street in Riverdale, IL. Residents can also receive flu vaccinations on Wednesday, October 28th at Thornton Township Hall, 333 East 162nd Street in South Holland, IL from 4 pm until 7 pm.
Thornton Township Supervisor, Frank M. Zuccarelli encourages residents, especially seniors from all seventeen municipalities that encompass Thornton Township to come out on one of these days to receive their flu shots. Flu shots are $22.00 for those who do not have Medicare Part B. No pneumonia shots will be given. For more information, call 708-596-6040 Ext. 3170
