This is an update regarding the Thornton Township Assessor’s Office as it relates to the current work from home mandate. The staff will work remotely from home effective Wednesday, November 25 as mandated by Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker due to the Covid 19 pandemic until further notice. The staff while working remotely from home will return calls as requested , schedule appointments and perform other duties. Appointments will be available for taxpayers on Mondays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m., We will not be available for public contact on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays. The Cook County Board of Review has not officially established a date for the filing of property tax appeals for Thornton Township but is accepting appeals now. Online filings are strongly suggested at this time.
