Tiffany A. Henyard is a dedicated public servant, successful business owner, and community leader. She began her public service in 2013 as a Dolton trustee and became mayor in 2021. Currently, Henyard serves as Supervisor of Thornton Township, representing 158,000 residents across 17 municipalities. In addition to managing the township’s operations, she chairs the board of trustees and oversees the General Assistance and Road and Bridge funds.

Henyard’s leadership has earned her several accolades, including the Chicago Anti-Eviction Campaign/Human Rights Defender Award and the prestigious “Queens Award” for her work during the COVID-19 crisis. Under her guidance, Thornton Township earned the 2022 Government Finance Organization Award for financial transparency.

As a visionary leader, Henyard is focused on economic empowerment, education, community health, and social justice. She champions initiatives like the Jobs Posting Board and job training programs to create sustainable employment. She is also committed to expanding access to youth education and mental health services, along with improving healthcare access for underserved communities.

Henyard emphasizes social equality, fighting discrimination, and working to bridge gaps in resources. Her leadership is grounded in community engagement, actively seeking input from residents through town halls, forums, and events to ensure their voices shape the future of Thornton Township.
