A Special Board Meeting will be held February 17, 2022, at
2:00 p.m. in the Thornton Township’s Boardroom,located at 333 East 162nd Street in South Holland Illinois, the purpose of this meeting is personnel reasons and to consider a person to fill a vacancy of public office, this will be a closed session. 02/03/2022 Closure

Due to continued inclement weather, and in an effort to keep our residents and employees as safe as possible ALL Thornton Township buildings will be closed Thursday 02/03/22!

This includes our food pantry!

Transportation will continue to run buses during normal hours.

Stay safe, warm, and home if you can! Let the plows do their work!

strain from the cold and the hard labor of snow shoveling could cause a heart attack at any age
– a major cause of death in the winter. Don’t ignore chest pain or tightness in your chest.

WE’RE HIRING

ZAP (Zuccarelli Assistance Program) Senior Lawn Care provides low-cost basic lawn maintenance for senior residents residing in single family homes who need assistance in performing routine lawn tasks.

Thornton Township hires students living in Thornton Township to perform this lawn service in order to provide skill-based learning/work opportunities to high school students that reside in Thornton Township. All students must be recommended by their School Counselor and/or Principal based upon their academic and attendance merit.

Senior Center In Person Closure

The safety of our residents is important to us!

Because of the rising cases of the Covid variant, Thornton Township Senior Center will be closed for all in person activities until January 18th, 2022

Lunches will still be served as a drive up service only.
