Veterans Day

Calling all residents! Join Thornton Township Supervisor Tiffany A. Henyard and the board of trustees in honoring our veterans at Thornton Township Hall on Saturday, November 12th, from 11 am to 1 pm. There will be a delicious luncheon, music, and other festivities to celebrate our brave heroes. We are incredibly grateful for their service and sacrifice for our country. 2022 Holiday Food Basket Program

Thornton Township Supervisor Tiffany A. Henyard and the board of trustees have extended the 2022 Holiday Food Basket Program until Wednesday, October 5th, 2022!  

PROOF OF RESIDENCE

BRING (1) OF THE FOLLOWING

•Utility Bill (Water, Gas, or Electric: (August or September 2022)
• Homeowners or Renter’s Insurance. Current Date
•Bank Statement (August or September 2022)
•Credit Card Statement (August or September 2022)
•Medical Card- Current Date
•Current State of Illinois Driver’s License or Illinois State ID

PROOF OF LAST 30 DAYS OF INCOME

BRING (1) OF THE FOLLOWING

•Unemployment Benefit Payment Stub
•Current Income Verification From Department of Human Services (Public Aid) or Notice of Decision with TANF (not Food Stamps only)
•Social Security Award Letter
•DCFS Award Letter
•And/or the most recent check stub for the past 30 days from your employer

•Food baskets will not be distributed without the above information
•This program is based on the income & residence of Thornton Township Only
•The dates above are the only dates that applications will be accepted

Summer has finally arrived!! 

COVID Numbers are still  up and down, so please continue to stay safe.  Here are the recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) as of May 26, 2022:

In Cook County, Illinois, the community level is High.

People may choose to mask at any time. People with symptoms, a positive test, or exposure to someone with COVID-19 should wear a mask.

JUNE 28, 2022 GUBERNATORIAL PRIMARY ELECTION

  • ARE YOU REGISTERED TO VOTE? Come see us at the Clerk’s Office, it takes less than 5 minutes; you must have two (2) forms of identification with at least one showing your current residence.
  • VOTER REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS? Must be a U.S. Citizen; • Must be 18 years old to vote in a Consolidated Primary or General Primary • Must have been a resident of the precinct at least 30 days prior to Election Day.

EARLY VOTING

For June 28, 2022, Gubernatorial Primary Election, traditional Early Voting will take place

June 13 – 27.

The Clerk’s office is located on the lower level of the Township Building, the phone number is (708)596-6040 ext. 3123 or ext. 3118.  If you have any questions or need further information, feel free to contact my office at any time during office hours.

Office Hours:

  • Monday, Wednesday, Friday: 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.
  • Tuesday, Thursday: 9:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m.

WHAT YOU NEED TO EARLY VOTE:

 

Government-issued photo ID is not required but is helpful if there is a question about the voter’s registration, address or signature.  Providing an ID can also speed up the process because we have ID card readers at every check-in station.

You can register to vote at ALL Early Vote Sites. NOTE: Any voter who needs to register for the first time or file an address change must present two forms of ID, one of which shows the voter’s current address.

Mail Ballot Drop Box Locations

Cook County Elections is once again offering suburban Cook County voters the highly popular, convenient option of returning mail ballots using mail ballot drop boxes in suburban Cook County for the June 28, 2022 Gubernatorial Primary Election.

Locations:
At all Early Voting locations (see locations below).

Dates:
June 13, 2022 through June 27, 2022, including weekends and holidays

Times:
9am-4pm

Cook County staff will monitor the drop boxes daily during hours of service. Mail ballots will be collected from the drop boxes a minimum of one time daily or as warranted and delivered to Cook County Elections for processing.
